The Unforeseen

Image
"The Unforeseen" by Vandana Srivastava is a collection of gripping short stories. I have long awaited the opportunity to read a book with short stories, and I am grateful that I found this one. One of the major reasons I chose this book was the attractive cover page. It is a collection of 12 stories, and the best part is that one is a poem titled "Life." Being fond of poetry, this piece was a gift that suited the book well. The stories encompass all the important elements of human emotions: love, anger, and fear. The author's ability to deliver unexpected twists adds an extra layer of intrigue to each story, keeping me engaged until the end. My favorite story, "Innocence," revolves around an eight-year-old hyperactive and naughty boy. I closely related to this tale because my younger sibling exhibited all the characteristics of that boy. It was a lovely and cute story.  The book is quick, suspenseful, engaging, and interesting, allowing me ...

Survival Of The Fittest

Image
“Survival of the Fittest” by Khitisweri Krupaya tells the story of a tech-savvy girl navigating the challenges of the COVID-19 lockdown. The title aptly aligns with the storyline. With the immediate imposition of a nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus, travel between places became exceedingly difficult. Many individuals, separated from their families, found themselves constrained to stay in one place for an extended period. The book delves into the profound changes we all experienced during this time, addressing the mental and physical toll exacted by the pandemic on our well-being. Elle faces the harsh realities of the pandemic alone in a different city, with each of her friends succumbing to the virus one by one, including herself. The narrative illustrates how these four close friends grapple with the consequences of coronavirus, showcasing their support, motivation, and efforts to bring joy to each other, even when physically apart. I highly recommend this book to...

Oneira : The Journey

Image
The word Oneira itself was very fascinating for me and it intrigued to me read the book as I heard this word for the very first time. The cover of this book is very creative and it describes the book accurately. This is a thought provoking read. At certain points in the book you will have to keep the book down and process the real meaning of the author. Your cognition will be very much changed after reading this book and it will help you very much in the future. Author takes readers on a captivating adventure through the tumultuous train ride of Jai. As he navigates the journey, an enigmatic sadhu introduces an unconventional companionship, promising solace and redemption. I really like the way Sadhu’s character was written. Arora skillfully weaves a narrative where the line between reality and illusion blurs, creating a mysterious and thought-provoking atmosphere. The book’s exploration of existential themes and the interplay of reality and perception adds a layer of depth to this en...
